to invite all community members to send in letters and comments concerning
the GBLTIQ community. We are offering this as a service to the GBLTIQ community
as part of our community building vow. N.B. O.P.I don’t endorse all the
views or claims that are made in correspondence and articles printed. If
you don’t want to reveal your identity to prevent ‘punitive persecutions’
but want to exercise your right to speak please feel free to request that
we publish as ‘(name withheld as per request)’. The OPI do not edit and/or

Dear Sisters,
I picked up your lovely magazine at sKandalous and it now sits proudly
on our coffee table. I admit that I only took it because of the lovely
picture of Princess Mary, as my girlfriend and I are devoted fans, but
when I read the stories I found that I could not put it down especially
Sister Slash’s Tranny Special.
I think it is great to have a magazine that tells it like it is. Perth
has deserved the title Dullsville over the past few years and so I am
glad to see that there is a group actually doing something to liven the
place up. I have to confess I did go online and purchase an item of ‘education’
from Laney Cairo!!!
My only disappointment was that, while you did include a picture of a
penis, there were no pictures of naked breasts for us lesbians to look
at. Perhaps Sister Slash could model for us?
Keep up the good work. We are looking forward to seeing you at Fairday!!!

Subject: Poz Dating Service
Ok Guys,
now this may make me sound sound a little loopy, but there has got to be
a way a Poz guy can get a little action.
Is there a dating service, either online website or otherwise, for member of Club HIV? If not, why not?
I saw a website for such a service, but oh guess what.. it doesn't work!
They said they would send me a passowrd to activate, but no
email was received, and that was 6 months ago.
Why am I so toey? Let's be blunt, we are all men here. My fuck buddy (he's negative, but dont blame him for that) recently met his new boyfriend, so he left me for the bf. How do you like that? I was kinda hoping to make him my bf, but he didnt pick me... so now... I have to find a replacement. Oh but wait, NO ONE wants the job. Guys get all interested and when I tell them my status (Since I am looking for sex dates, I figure it might be important to tell), they run for the hills. It suddenly becomes an issue. One guy was cruising on gay.com, and when I told him, he suddenly came back and said it wasn't an issue, just that he doesn't fuck strangers. He also said I have a major problem.
You're damn right I do. This is blatant discrimination. If I suddenly said all asians out of australia, I would probably, and justifiably so, get my head beaten in and arrested. But to discriminate against a poz guy, that's acceptable. It's discrimination on the basis of lack of education and fear. Drives me crazy!
So what is ACON, PLWHA, Anklali, PLC, Bobby Goldsmith and all the rest doing about this lack of education? whatever they are doing, the message is NOT getting through.
This is yet another whinge (yes, I am guilty of whingeing) on the issue
of disclosure but this time, I have no issue with telling, I
am having issue with rejection.
Why can't these people understand the concept of safe sex?
I guess I am doomed to a life of celibacy. HIV is a death sentence to a healthy sex life.
I apologise again if this ruffles some feathers or freaks some of the new
members out... I am the lunatic who writes in every few
months, to stir up the water and spark a debate. Then nothing else happens
and I will go quiet again. So just don't pay much attention
to me and I will go away.

Expiation of stigmatic guilt (that guilt we direct at ourselves or the guilt we apply to others.
Promulgation of Universal Joy, especially among GLBTIQ people.
To be a GLBTIQ Liberation Organisation.
To help make every GLBTIQ person feel good about themselves.
To provide a public forum to for like minded gay people and gay sympathetic people to express their views and interests.
To be concerned with the physical and social environment of all in the GLBTIQ community.
To be concerned with preserving and promoting the desirable historical, social and cultural features of the GLBTIQ community.
To review those activities and policies of public, statutory and private organisations which affect the GLBTIQ community.
To support and co-operate with other organizations whose aims and objectives are compatible with those of the Order.
To represent the views and interests of the members of the Order before public, statutory and private organisations on matters which affect the Order.
To raise funds for GLBTIQ charities and in particular those relating to HIV/AIDS.
To carry out safer sex education and raise awareness about the needs of HIV+ people within the GLBTIQ Community.
To do any other lawful acts as may be incidental or conducive to the the attainment of these objects and aims of the Order.
